A. Roblox Removal of TIX
1. I am aware that this is old.
Before anyone says that, this is a new blog and I want to cover some old updates that ROBLOX went through. So expect more to be released soon. Anyway, thanks for reading this part, let’s go to the blog.
In 2016, ROBLOX decided to remove TIX, making ROBUX the only currency on the social / gaming platform.
2. What was TIX?
If you joined after 2016, you may not know what TIX is or you may have decided to return to roblox a decade and a year later. TIX was the “free” currency you could get. Every day you received 10 TIX. If someone NEW enters your game, you can get 1 or 10 ROBUX. (No source I found to clarify this, sorry)
You could get a lot of items with TIX, but it would be a lot in the meantime, ROBLOX made a Tixpalooza that you had from March 15, 2016 to April 14, 2016
3. Did it affect ROBLOX?
YEA! Many people were outraged to hear this, some thought it was a silly joke from late April or a silly joke from early April. Unfortunately, we were wrong. On April 14, 2016, TIX was removed and ROBUX was the only thing left. Game developers had a GREAT chance of making more money, especially with DevX, and that’s exactly what happened.
4. And how do people feel now?
People still have memorials and things like that, but people don’t really respond to that anymore, many people have accepted that and know they won’t be back anytime soon.
B. Why did Roblox remove tickets?
There is really no reason for removal, but I will cover all the main reasons in this article.
Although I imagine that many people reading this probably think it was just for Roblox’s profit, which, in my understanding of the economy, was probably partly due to the immense inflation that would have occurred if they hadn’t.
At that time, Roblox was expanding rapidly and more and more players were playing at the same time every day. In March 2016, the month they removed tickets, ROBLOX said on his blog, and I quote: They had a 113% growth in monthly active users year after year. Which was the biggest growth of users of all time.
But why is this important? Well, at the time of the tickets, every ROBLOX user received a daily bonus for registering on the site 10 tix. With the increasing number of players on ROBLOX, more and more people received a login bonus. If this were a real-life example, it would be the equivalent of printing a $ 10 bill for every American citizen every day, but without taking the coin out of circulation. Here is How To Delete A Game On Roblox.
The exchange rate for 1 Robuck 2009 may have been around 4 tix. Until 2012, the exchange rate for 1 robuck was around 12 tix, which corresponds to an increase of 300% in just 3 years.
Roblox was expanding faster than ever at the time of removing Tix, which is why the amount of Tix belonging to all Roblox users has been gathered. If Roblox hadn’t removed the tix, tickets would probably have lost almost all of their value in a few years.
Although tickets may seem like a fairly simple concept for a ROBLOX player who has been using the platform for a long time, this is an added confusion for any new player. Now that only ROBUX remains, the monetary system is generally much easier for everyone to understand. As Roblox removed the minimum price limit for t-shirts, shirts and pants, it did not have a material impact on the overall user experience.
A major problem that roblox identified in its removal blog post was the use of alternative accounts to earn sign-up bonuses. These accounts would then donate all of these tickets to one account, giving them infinite free money. This was a big problem, as Roblox had no way of regulating this and they also decided that they would not earn cash rewards in the future.
