What to Wear to a Spring Wedding
Just before the spring wedding begins, many women look in their closets and think, “I have nothing to wear to this wedding! Don’t be afraid, because this practical guide will give you all the inspiration you need to create a beautiful outfit for every spring wedding on your calendar. With the knowledge available to you, you will find that buying spring wedding dresses is a pleasure, not a chore.
As with any wedding, when planning your gowns, it is important to consider the style, location, and time of the spring wedding you will attend. It’s always a good idea to keep in mind that weddings are by nature more conservative than other events, so not all the new runway trends are suitable for a wedding guest. In other words, there are no dresses with a cut-off waist, even if they are in fashion in the fashion magazines. The good thing about the more classic wedding trends is that the dress you buy for a wedding this spring if chosen correctly will look elegant for next spring’s wedding with only a few new accessories.
Flounces are in this year’s fashion, and their feminine look makes them perfect for a wedding. Look for a nice sleeveless dress with a creased neckline, like the ones shown at J Crew this spring. If you don’t have sleeves, you might want to wear an elegant matching jacket (for the day) or a silk sleeve (for the evening) over it. The sleeveless style makes the dress as versatile as it can be for summer weddings. With a busy neckline, you’ll find that the best type of wedding jewelry is a simple necklace with cheeky earrings. A bold pearl cluster design or a glass earring would be a good complement to the feminine style of the ornaments.
Pretty colors are always a welcome breath of fresh air when spring rides out the winter. Warm colors for this spring include turquoise, purple, and coral. Soft neutrals like champagne are also in fashion, for those women who shy away from bright colors. They are a good alternative to dark neutrals like black or navy blue (please don’t wear dark clothes to a spring wedding!) and are deep enough in color not to think too much about bridal white or ivory. The most beautiful way to wear a dress in a neutral shade is if it is made of flowing, pleated silk. When the color is off, you can add your accessories, such as a fabulous pair of shoes and many-layered pearl necklaces for your wedding jewelry.
Spring is always a season of beautiful flowers, and this is certainly a good idea for a spring wedding dress. A dress or skirt decorated with an imaginative floral print will always be appropriate for a wedding guest. You can keep the look modern and up to date by choosing a dress or skirt with bold flowers instead of small twigs. A touch of a contrasting pattern, such as a striped sash or a fabric flower pin, adds a fun and whimsical touch to the dress or skirt. A fitted blouse or two-piece plain set goes well with a colorful floral skirt.
Dressing for a spring wedding can be a lot of fun. When buying the guests’ dresses for the spring wedding, you should think about the color, the decorations, the flowers, and most of all, the fun. The joyful atmosphere of spring makes it a wonderful time to attend a wedding.
